The 10th Street Plaza was initiated by the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) and co-sponsored by the community conservation partnership program of the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Hahnemann University Hospital. The project was conceived as a new gateway into the Chinatown community. The Plaza is situated on a PennDOT bridge structure over the Vine Street Expressway along Chinatown's 10th Street commercial corridor. The project is a cornerstone of PCDC's efforts to improve the pedestrian connection to the Chinatown North area that was disrupted by the Vine Street Expressway, and to revitalize the underused area on the bridge structure by making it more pedestrian friendly. Construction is underway on Dunia Plaza in Victorville, CA. 3 engineering was the civil engineer on this 45,000 SF retail building. The site is approximately 4.2 acres and will consist of 3 retail tenants, Staples, Michaels, and Dollar Tree. Construction is expected to be completed in July 2015.
